Below is a link to a two part Youtube video set, which briefly describes Operation Ajax. This operation which was a joint effort between the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and their British Counterpart the M-6, overthrew the Democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadeg and re-seated the Shah back on his Miltary Dictatorship that had been oppressing the Persian people and was selling Iran's oil at a loss to the Iranian people. The profits were split between the United States and the British, with a small portion going to the Shah and his family for being good puppets.
During President Clinton's Administration, Secretary Albright publicly apologized fr this act, and since then the CIA has posted it on their website. However, as with all such operations, it is too late, for what these two organizations' actions did in 1953 has created the mad unrest in the Middle East which we see today.
